How to get around on the island of Ustica.
The island of Ustica is not so big that it necessarily requires the use of a car to get around. It is however possible to disembark in Ustica with your own car‚ for those arriving with the ferry‚ except for the month of August. To get around‚ we recommend otherwise. It is possible to use the public bus service made available by the municipality‚ which regularly runs with stops on request. Another service that can be used are private taxi buses‚ which make transfers on call. But if you prefer to move freely and in a green way then you can use an electric vehicle for getting around the island‚ whether it is a bicycle or scooter. If‚ you are the sports type‚ you can also rent a classic bike. On the island there are several rental services where you can rent one of these vehicles. How to reach the island of Ustica from Sicily
The island of Ustica is connected with Palermo by daily boat transfers. The island can be reached by hydrofoil‚ operated by Liberty Lines‚ or by ferry managed by Caronte Tourist. Both services depart from the port of Palermo. The hydrofoil takes about 1.5 hours to reach Ustica and offers multiple transfers per day‚ which are increased in the summer period. The ferry takes about 3.5 hours to reach the island of Ustica and offers one transfer every day. The ticket service is available both online and directly at the port of Palermo or Ustica. Both the hydrofoil and the ferry arrive in Cala Santa Maria‚ the small port of Ustica. Once disembarked you will find our dive center easily as we are located a few meters from the port of Ustica.
