A dive in the blue between pinnacles that rise from the depths reaching towards the surface‚ surrounded by huge amberjacks and clouds of barracudas.
The dive site is located about 2 miles from the southwest side of the island of Ustica. It is the classic dive in the blue‚ where we reach the first and the less deep of the three pinnacles that from a depth of about 50m rise towards the surface up to a depth of 25m.
Each of these pinnacles has a different morphology drawing a unique scenario‚ walls‚ valleys and promontories. A real show full of life appears to our eyes wandering around 30m between these pinnacles covered with benthic life‚ red gorgonians‚ false black coral and brown algae. During our dive we search for the big clouds of barracudas and gigantic species of amberjack that are stationed around the pinnacles. Certainly‚ there are many encounters with these pelagic species. Snappers and bream move furtively around the rocky peaks of this dive site. With a few glances around us we might notice‚ like a flash‚ the sight of a tuna that slips quickly before our eyes. The dive stop before surfacing can also surprise us with some pleasant encounters.
