The IDC program is planned in 8-10 days. After the IDC‚ 2 days of the PADI Instructor Examination (IE) are planned.
Instructor Development Course - IDC
During the 10 days of the IDC we will be focused on everything you need to know and need to learn to become a PADI Instructor. You will participate in academic presentations‚ in order to know how to teach in a classroom and we will spend a lot of time in the water‚ doing Confined Water Presentations and Open Water Presentations. We repeat all the presentations several times and each time you will be evaluated by our Course Director and IDC Staff Instructors.
You learn how the PADI structure is composed and how to best use it in your teaching‚ using the PADI Instructor Manual and ‘Guide to Teaching’ where all the General Standard & Procedures and examples and advises on how to teach are described. As a diving instructor you will use the Instructor Manual a lot to organize your courses so we will teach you how to use it in the most optimal manner and how to find the right information.
The IDC includes the Emergency First Responder (EFR) Instructor Course. Being an EFR Instructor you can teach the EFR course‚ which is a recognized first aid certification and is required for the PADI Rescue Diver Course.
Instructor Examination - IE
After the IDC‚ you'll be ready for the PADI Instructor Examination. During two days‚ the PADI Examiner will evaluate you on all the presentations in the classroom‚ confined and open water that you have practiced during the IDC and there will be a Theory exam (Physics‚ Physiology ‚ Recreational Dive Planner‚ Skills and Environment‚ and Equipment) and the General Standards & Procedures Exam.
